Oh, this whole world keeps spinning 'round. It's a wonder tall trees ain't layin' down. There comes a time, comes a time.

We have started getting our first eggs of the year. This is Tomato. She is a special chicken, my dad's personal favorite. She is the heaviest chicken on the farm. That might have to do with the lots of extra corn she gets when she's visiting in the garage.
She layed the first chicken egg of the year two days ago.
 It was very pretty.
We put a fake, plastic egg in the box to encourage them to lay.
It has a hole in the bottom, but don't tell them.

Uhura's babies.

 Gold's babies.

Blu Willow, named by my neighbor girl. She wanted to see a baby goat born very badly but she missed it , as did I . So I gave her the honor of naming her.

Another Set of Twin Girls!

More babies.

Another set of twin girls, from Gold this time. Really.
They are adorable.

Gold is Next!

Gold has lost her ligaments! Went out to check on (and cuddle) Uhura's babies. They were OK, nursing and trying to bounce around, it was really cute! Went to check on Gold, and WA-LA! No ligaments. I'm hoping for another smooth and easy delivery. Fingers crossed for more girls! Sorry for no more pictures.... I used up all my battery charge on my camera yesterday. Don't worry, it's charging now..=)

Twin Girls!

This is when I first went out. She was already super close!
 Uhura during a contraction.
First babies hooves!
Sorry it goes from the first kids hooves, to both kids on the ground. First baby came out really fast after her feet came and while I was cleaning the big globs of goop of of her, the second baby came out faster then a speeding bullet.
 Uhura and her baby girls.
First born. Her ears are like her daddies and her fur pattern and color like her mama's.
Second born. She looks like one of last years babies, Gracie. She is one little feisty girl! She'll scream her head off if she's not getting what she wants.

It is twin girls!
Pictures coming soon.

Tayet is with her in the kidding pen as I type this.

Kidding Preperation

With kidding on the way, I have to make another pen to keep one of the girls in for bonding time. This is the old chicken coop. It's basically the summer house. But now, it's a kidding pen for whoever kids first. It looks really roughed up, but it's solid and reliable.
It's got a good door my dad made a few years ago.
It has some cracks, but I fixed those yesterday after I took these photos.
The white box is a creep space for the kids.
All those little cracks where the sun is getting through, along with a chilly breeze are patched up.
I've started putting my kidding kit together.
Hopefully I won't need these bottles!
And to top it all off, here's a picture of a handsome rooster.

Let the Kidding Countdown Commence!

We have T-minus 10 days till the kidding commences. Try to contain your excitement to a minimum and cross your fingers for me so I can try to get birth pictures or video instead of missing the kidding like usual or cross your fingers for a smooth delivery and healthy babies, because we have some pretty big bellies here!. Also, let me know if you have any name suggestions, because I love it when you do!

Also, feel free to comment because I am a word verification free blog! I apologize for any problem this may have caused anyone in the past.

Uhura's Udder

Here's a picture of Uhura's udder. It's getting really big!

The Peanut

I had a peanut. Just an ordinary, everyday peanut. Not that it was ordinary to the goats, no siree.
Peanut? You can give me that!
Gold came over to me because I had The Peanut. Please note, every peanut is The Peanut. As soon as one gets eaten the next one becomes The Peanut. And so on.
No, really, here, just let me have it.
Their love of peanuts is a love that will exist until peanuts cease to exist, which will probably be doomsday for all goats.
You can just drop it in there, I'll open up REAL wide so you don't miss.

Interview with Cameron

Lately, I interviewed my little sister, Emily. But today, I'm interviewing my big brother, Cameron (y'all might know him as Marnax). And away we go!

So, Cameron, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Well, almost all of my time is spare time and I like to spend it on the computer playing games like Minecraft and role-playing on Ponychan.

What do you do when you aren't on the computer?
I enjoy reading a lot and lately I've been enjoying the remake of Battlestar Galactica (Starbuck is the
best character).

What is your favorite animal and why?
Goats, because it's almost impossible not to love them!

What kind of books do you like reading?
It varies wildly. But my favorite series would have to be Discworld by Terry Pratchett. CRIVENS!

Do you enjoy any physical activities?
NO. I loathe exercise. I don't know why, I just do.

What is your favorite part of having goats?
The snuggling of baby goats.

What exactly is Ponychan?
It's basically a forum for fans of all ages of the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. A lot of the readers are probably laughing right now. but it is a genuinely good show, with believable characters who have the right character flaws for their personality, engaging story lines and very appealing visuals. Ponychan has many different sections for many different purposes, for example, /chat/ which, as the name suggests, is for the discussion of multiple topics. /pony/, which is for discussion of the show, /rp/ which is for role-playing all sorts of stories, involving all sorts of things from Time Lords to smoothie shops. And many more.

What is your sleep schedule?
What's a sleep schedule?

What color are your eyes?
Hazel, which is better known as mud.

What do you have to say to anybody who is listening?
Watch Doctor Who. Also, bow ties are COOL.

Yesterday, the weather was GORGEOUS. Completely wonderful.
There was a light breeze and the sun was shining.

Interview With Emily

Hi there, everyone! Today I'm going to interview my little sister, Emily, she's 9 years old. She's the one who took my "You Know You're a Farmgirl When..." video. So here goes!

Emily, what do you think about goats?
I think they are wonderful and I love it when they have babies!

Are you really excited for March, because that's when Uhura and Gold are due to kid?
Yes, of course I am! I'm SUPER excited!

What do you like best about having babies?
They are super cute and funny to watch. I love how they frolic about.

Do you want more boys or girls and why?
I want more girls because we usually have boys. I like girls better, because I think they are cuter for some reason.

How will you react when they kid?
I will jump and squeal and say "Aw, it's so cute!"

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I like to read my books, right now I'm reading a Nancy Drew book called Nancy's Mysterious Letter.

What are you going to read after you finish Nancy's Mysterious Letter?
Well, right now, I'm reading two books, they are both Nancy Drew. The other one I'm reading is called A Taste of Danger.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole world?
Play soccer! I love soccer because, mostly at soccer practice I get to see all my friends and I love playing soccer! It's just so fun.

Who's your best friend?
Corin. I've known her FOREVER

Aren't you going to her house next week?
Yes. On the 22nd. I'm looking forward to it, I can't wait!

What is your favorite animal?
Leopards! But on the farm my favorite animal is chickens. My favorite chicken is Kiya.

Do you like living on a farm or do you wish we lived in the city?
I love living on the farm because we can actually have chickens and in the city you can't.

Do you think we should incubate chicks ASAP in the spring?
Of course I love chicks! They are sooo adorable! Darling! They make you want to fall over from thinking about them. They. Are. So. ADORABLE!

Well, that's all the time we have today! If you want to get interviewed on my blog, please contact me at lilythegoat@yahoo.com.
